Harold Williams was listed by the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s greatest linguist, speaking over 58 languages fluently. Most of us struggle to speak one fluently! More importantly than how many foreign languages we speak is the manner in which we speak. Do we speak with faith or with fear, with trust in God or with doubt and worry? Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” So do you speak death or life?
We must learn to speak faith declarations. A faith declaration is when we declare out loud the absolute faithfulness of God and His word. His word abides forever. It is true. It is supernatural. It is faithful. We must learn to speak the truth of God’s word and let the words that we speak agree with the words that God declares. In Psalm 27, David makes seven faith declarations:
- I will live life strong.
- I will love God’s house passionately.
- I will have an overflowing heart.
- I will turn to God at all times.
- I will walk uprightly.
- I will not lose heart.
- I will hold my head high.
