Take your stand and defend your ground

There is a children’s book called Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. That’s quite a title, but the question is – have you ever had one of those days? Or maybe you had one of those terrible, horrible, no good, very bad years! If so, take heart. God is the God who turns the terrible, horrible days and years around. He is the God of the supernatural turnaround.

A supernatural turnaround is a divine encounter where God reverses your circumstances, turns the negative into positive, and shifts your thoughts and life to a new direction. In 2 Samuel 23, the Israelites were under attack and fleeing from the Philistines, but one man saw a supernatural turnaround. Shammah “stationed himself in the middle of the field and defended it… and the Lord brought about a great victory.” Overwhelmed! Outnumbered! Defeat at your doorstep! Now is the time to see a supernatural turnaround.

  • Believe! Believe that turnarounds are possible. You serve the God who turns impossibilities into possibilities.

  • Take your stand! Plant your feet where God has placed you and stand firm. “And having done all, stand firm” (Ephesians 6.13).

  • Defend your ground. Do not allow despair to overwhelm you and doubt to undermine your trust. Instead “bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10.5)

Lord, turn my life around in a profound and miraculous way. Radically change my thoughts, enlarge my heart to believe, and transform my expectations for my future. Today is my supernatural turnaround day. I believe!
