MY PRAYER FOR YOU

It’s Saturday morning for us here in the Northwest of the USA. I am in my home office with my library of some 6,000 books surrounding me, but the best book is the Bible, the living, powerful Word of God. Our church has been in a 14 day prayer and fasting time which ends tomorrow night with a gathering that we call “Mega Prayer Night” on all four of our church campuses.

Throughout the last 14 days, each campus has held prayer meetings at 8 AM and 7 PM for one hour. That comes to about 8,000 hours of prayer logged during this time! Prayer is always the best way to start the day and to start the year.

As a church, we started on January 1 with preaching and praying through 12 powerful prayers for 2012. I then moved the church into a series on “Hedges,” growing strategic hedges as we move into 2012. Using Job 1:10 as the text, I laid out five strategic hedges: prayer, personal, relational, possessions, and favor hedges. The atmosphere in and around the congregation is clear and clean, filled with expectation and a unified heart for 2012 and beyond.

Tomorrow night at Mega Prayer, we will pray for every person and anoint each with oil as a symbol of God’s protection and favor on them. This is one of the most attended and faith-filled services we have during the year. People want prayer and people want hope, encouragement, and they want God to watch over them in the coming year. We will have an amazing time!

Our church has also been activated to read through the Bible together in one year. We have a comprehensive reading plan that takes readers through various genres of the Bible throughout the week, and through the Bible in a year. We are positioned in unified prayer, unified reading through the Word, unified vision for the year, and unified heart and spirit. We are ready for the year!

Let me declare favor over your year, over your life, relationship, ministry, and church. May God favor you with His amazing signature of His blessings, grace to prosper, succeed, and to have influence. May He open new doors of opportunity.

My prayer for you today and this year is Numbers 6:22-27:

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.”’ “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”
